January has the advantage of being a bit of a "shoulder season" with the holiday crowds gone. Everything is less crowded, airfares tend to be a lot more favorable in the Jan 8-24 range +/-(at least in prior years). Never know what weather will do, but there are always plenty of options to work around any weather issue. Personally, we are looking at a mid January to mid March stay for 2017.
