We were there there in December and there was definitely a sign reading 'no coolers' just as you access the beach through the main entrance. It may still be there or perhaps its gone by now, but regardless, this is one beach location where I would NOT feel comfortable in bringing a cooler even if there was no sign. But to each his own.......
And yes, it's definitely a little pricier here than many of the other beach spots so probably not an every day beach for many of us (definitely not our everyday spot) but nonetheless, the property is great in my personal estimation.
The food and service has been excellent every time we've spent the day, and the furnishings along with the beach itself are all beautiful. To me its worth paying a little more to spend the day in comfort on this beautiful beach and know you can easily enjoy the beach itself - which can sometimes be problematic at a few of theother beaches we enjoy - along with its good parking and beautiful and clean restrooms - the total package, so to speak.
