Just booked a time share for early 2017 with Ocean Club Villas. After looking at their website, I am unsure. I really thought OC was the small resort (where the green monkey rest. is) besides Sapphire towards the French side, but now think it is on the side closer to Starz. Any thoughts on OC villas. I have to cancel today.

Friends stayed there a while back and loved it. The Green Monkey was a good breakfast choice even for those not at Ocean Club. We were able to do a steak night there on two different trips and it was very good.
Respectfully,
pat

That is good to know I was thinking of the correct place!! We have also eaten there many times. They may have a daily cleaning fee (according to RCI)but other than that I do not know anything more about the resort. We are there Feb. 25- Mar. 4. I may try to find a second week on either end of the RCI week for a longer stay. It might be nice to stay at the same resort. We usually end up moving week #2.

It really depends on what you're looking for. OC is a fairly small resort, on a great beach (when it's there, which is most of the time). The ocean front units are great and the poolside units are also pretty good. Some of the units in the"Towers" are good....some ... not so great. If you have specifics...send me a pm.

Not that it's any of my business...but, what unit are thinking of staying in at OC? It makes a bit difference at this resort.

IMO...the ocean front units and the units (2 bd, 1 bd., and around the pool are great. Some of the units in the tower are not so great. However, we did stay in a corner studio in the tower that was fine. But, some of the "Tower" studios are not fine.

dress said: I don't really know. It is through RCI and they say unit will be assigned at check in I would contact the resort directly and try to get them to nail that down. Like the previous posted stated , it makes a significant difference at this particular resort. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" />

I agree that it makes a difference what unit you are assigned and also be aware that if you they do assign a unit, you might be put in a different one upon arrival. That happened to us. It was the weekend of the Ohio State football championship game a few years ago and a group of OSU fans decided to stay for the Monday night game so rather than displace them, they put us in a different room. Also note that access to second floor units is via a spiral staircase. Lugging a 50 pound suitcase up and down the stairs wasn't fun.

If you're booked with "Ocean Club Villas", you're in one of the villas out around the pool, or possibly one of the oceanfront villas although most of those are privately owned. If you were booked in what they call the "tower" building, it should say "Ocean Club Waterview Apartments". The Ocean Club Villas are the more desirable units.

We are here now, leaving tomorrow. The Green Monkey grill is only supposed to be open for breakfast thru August. Sal and Marjory opened up for our group this last two weeks for dinner with a limited menu. They are working on a how many are staying in the resort each week I guess. Breakfast here is popular. No more rib nights or steak nights this summer is my understanding. It will probably be open in high season every day...mostly all day... during high season. Villas are around the pool and upstairs villas are not much fun to get up and down. The beach was full of sand last week and is showing signs of withdrawing sand this week. You can find quite a bit of info on our trip reports and links here: http://donlinda.net/StMartin/index.htm

[color:"green"][/color]My friends have stayed at the penthouse with a full view of the Caribbean. It was in March and since they had cable we were able to watch a college basketball game that night. We were invited over for a BBQ dinner and it is a great place. Very large condo and two balconies, plus a full wall of glass looking toward the Sea. They prefer it as it is all on one floor as we are not the Spring chickens we were when we met in the old Pelican Resort days!
