Plane arrives 11 PM in November, then short trip to get car. Staying at Blue Marine in Maho. A few questions: - How late is the Maho market open?
- Is what used to be the Fashion Cafe still there and open for breakfast?
- Is Ernest & Fidel's still open for breakfast? Anything else in Porto Cupecoy or around there open for breakfast?
Thanks in advance.

A Tripadvisor review from January, 2016 mentions breakfast at Ernest and Fidel. Fashion Cafe is closed, and I don't know if anything else has opened in its place. Maho Market closes at midnight; by the time you get your bags and car, that would be a push. You may want to have Jeannie deliver some first night essentials; I'd not want to be stopping anywhere that late, especially after a cross-country trip! In fact, I'm not sure I wouldn't just take a cab to my unit and have the car delivered there the next day. Of course, you're a very experienced traveler, so it might not bother you at all to be driving that late. I'd just want to get in bed, lol!

SXMBND said: I doubt that E&F would be open at that hour, do they have a web site? They do not have their own web site that I can find; it's something sponsored by someone else and does list breakfast (I wasn't asking about their being open at midnight) but no idea how often the web site is updated. Thought I'd ask those who might be in the know.

Linda,
I believe the Maho market is open till at least 11:00 at night but it would be tough to get there with a late arrival.
I don't know about Fasion Cafe but we always enjoy breakfast at Tortuga, at Royal Islander and more or less behind the Boat Bar, along with breakfast at both ElZafiro on White Sands Road (l think that's the right road name) but just before the entrance to Beachside Villas. We've breakfasted at the old Sunset Beach Bar but haven't tried it since the changes. At Cupecoy we really like the Green Monkey Restaurant at the Ocean Club along with Ernst and Fidel at Porto Cupecoy. I should think they will all be open in November, our second most favorite time of year.

I'm guessing you are on AA. Not for nothing, but that arrival time is really stupid. But I digress..
I thought that Fashion Cafe was open when we were there at the end of May, but I really did not pay that much attention. I might have a tendency to just go by Grand Marche in Cupecoy and pick up something. Or, don't forget, Dreams is open for breakfast now! Great way to begin a trip!
If you want more than just breakfast supplies, you can contact Jeannie! But you know that!

I also thought of suggesting Jeannie and her stocking service but does anyone know if she has one and if so, what her minimum order might be? It seems to me there was talk of there being one but we generally do a pretty full provisioning order so I'm not sure anymore.
It's no secret that A. - I hate to shop and B. - I really hate to shop for groceries, particularly when on vacation and C. - I really love Jeannie and her service so D. - we'd use her service no matter what and that would clearly be my best suggestion to start my vacation the right way.

I would go with El Zafiro, nice setting and a chance to try out a new place and see if you want to spend more time there.
Or just wing it when you get up, have your options and depending upon the variables such as weather and fatigue you just go with the moment!
Cheers!
I prefer the Isle seat

Hi Linda,
The Fashion Cafe was open when we left in May, but under a different name. Ernest & Fidel's was still at Porto, but he seems to open when he feels like it. Rendezvous Cafe is also there, and they serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

I didn't care for Fashion Cafe when it was open, just THOUGHT there was something open there when we were there, but didn't pay much attention what it was called.
