On a recent charter, we had a beautiful boat that was barely one year old. The mattress in the V-berth was extremely uncomfortable, and both my wife and I had difficulty sleeping on it.

Even though this is the first time we'd experienced this in 12 charters, I'm guessing that others have also experienced it. Anyone have a good preventive remedy?

I personally use painkillers....and rum punch, and bushwackers.

Have used Therm-A-Rests in the past with great success BUT for the bulk!

1. pack a hammock- like a ENO
2. Pack a camping mattress: google "self inflating camp pad"
3. bag a bag of FROLI's
4. drink A LOT!

Thanks for the suggestions! The FROLI's look like a great option for our boat at home. For a charter, some of the inflatable pads are aamazingly compact when deflated, and have very high ratings.
