We usually vacation on St John and spend at least one day taking a power boat over to Jost Van dyke and hitting a snorkel stop or two and then a beach bar for lunch and going to several little islands around too. Little jost, white bay, the willie T and return back to STJ that same day. We are wanting to spend a day like this while on SXM and need to know a power boat company to take. We'd prefer that over a catamaran because you can hit more spots faster. Who should we use and what places make sense to do in a day. Definitely Anquila but are there other fun places that would be easier to see by boat than driving by car on Anguilla? To much to do Anguila and St Bart in one day.? We like little beach bars for lunch and maybe music and relaxing on the beach.

Sorry, not sure if you're looking for an organized and pre-packaged day trip or to actually rent and captain your own boat.

IMO, no way to do AXA and St. Bart's in the same day. Could be wrong, but I don't think so..... <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" />

Taminark,

Not sure if Pascal is still in business, but it I think a single day tour could be arranged and hit both islands. However, I am with Pat – I think it best to choose one of the two (Anguilla or St Barts) and have time to enjoy.

It has been 4 years when we booked Pascal, we just did Anguilla on his boat, but it was a blast. We pulled into multiple beaches, had a great lunch and finished of the day at the Dune Preserve with Bankie. Definitely rated as one of the best day trips ever.

We have traveled to USVI/BVI since the 70s and always enjoyed daytrips to other islands. We have done Nauti Nymphs, Palm Tree charters with Capt John Brandi, Island Roots with Capt John Stewart (God Bless Both of them), and numerous other power and sail trips out of St John and Tortola, but I can tell you that going from SXM to Anguilla at 50 mph in a floating rocket ship was a blast. Also not for the weak of heart.

BTW – I noticed this was your 1st post – Welcome.

Thank you TomB-
We've done all the same day trips in BVI's too. We did Island Roots last time after Captain Brandy had passed. We enjoyed our day with Jason since I'm a Survivor addict. I'm trying to figure out an itinerary around Anguilla to bar hop kind of like we do on our bvi days around jost , sandy spit, smugglers cove Etc. I'm just not familiar with the area to even know what my possibilities are. I'm great with taking a organized boat trip with others but it seems they are geared more for snorkeling and that's not what we want to do when we go this time. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Here is a link to the trip report we did when we did that day trip: Trip Report SXM 2011 Check out Thursday.

If you check out the General Caribbean page, Ellen777 has a plethora of knowledge on Anguilla. She may be able to provide you with what beach bar is best to hit when.

have fun

If visiting Anguilla for the day, and you want to swim, relax and maybe snorkel, I would settle on one maybe two beaches at the most. Shoal Bay East is ranked one of the most beautiful, Meads Bay is also very nice. Each have some little beach bars for lunch and relaxing. Taxi from the ferry could give you a quick tour on the way to one of these places. Junior Fleming has a glass bottom boat on SBE and could probably give some kind of water tour. We went to Little Bay with him which had great snorkeling. Sunday is music day on Anguilla. Anguilla is beautiful! Enjoy your trip!
