Next June, my wife and I are heading back to Europe to do our own version of the Martin Luther tour. It is the 500 year anniversary of the Protestant Reformation.

Afterwards, we will be travelling to Prague, Vienna and Salzburg before heading home via Munich.

If any of you on this board have been to Prague and Vienna, I would love to hear about your experiences in these two cities. If you had the chance, what are the top 5 places or events that you could recommend in each city.

I was in Vienna in 1968. I remember attending Christmas Eve Mass at St. Steven's Cathedral and seeing "The Magic Flute" on Christmas day at the Vienna State Opera. Our train stopped in Salzburg just long enough for my friends and I to step on the railroad station platform and sing "The Hills Are Alive" from the Sound of Music.

Thanks.

Two of my favorite cities. Prague Castle is a must see. If you are Catholic, the Infant of Prague is located in the Church of Our Lady Victorious just below Prague Castle. Both can be easily reached by tram.

In Vienna, I was really impressed by the Crypt of the Hapsburgs.
