I'm here. Pretty quiet. Weather has been very nice for the few days I've been here. Today was a little cloudy. Been spending my time at El Zafiro. Nice and quiet there. Disappointed that Sid is no longer at the Yacht Club for the morning coffee people. His sense of humor will be missed. Besides that just enjoying those 8 ounce green bottles. Might check out Harry's new place for Happy Hour today.

Thanks for the note. Where else have you eaten on island? Where are you staying?

Pointe Pirouette as usual. Not much dining out. Traveling solo so it's mostly bar food take out. Had lunch on the beach at Mary's Boon. The chairs and umbrellas are much more comfy at El Zafiro but they were closed that day for a staff party. Didn't think they had enough staff for a staff party.

Would that be "Uncle" Harry? Either way can you tell me what place you are talking about for HH? Thank you.

Been here sine 5th. Oyster Pond and Orient Beach. Every day has been a beach day, although some blustery with a few short rain showers. Most rain has been at night. Couple of days with nothing breeze and hot.
Wave action was heavy yesterday afternoon thru leaving the Club O beach 2:30 ET today. Lost a good width of beach most way along, Papagayo to well past the Perch. The heavier waves lapping up to the Perch steps. From Pedro chairs well past Perch one tight row of chairs with some right up against the fence. There were chairs set up in the volleyball area when we left. Some of the posts for the rope fence going from Papagayo past 47, 48, 49 were down. Right now still seeing large breakers coming into the reef we overlook on Baie Lucas/Corilita bay. The water in front of Club O beach was not clear at all, sand being kicked up pretty good. Talked to Donnie (and Randy) when she walked down from the north end and she said surf was heavy up that way. Heading to Super U in a bit for re-stocking supplies.

Been to BZH, Greenhouse, Danies by Sea, Canoa, Big Fish. Sent both meals back at Big Fish as they were so salty we could feel the salt granules crunching. Did second bite to make sure first was not an isolated spot. Martini's and crab/lobster cakes were good, but quite the let-down as we have eaten at Big Fish frequently in the past. Put a full review on Trip Advisor.

We are here. Arrived on Friday the 14th. Stayed at Club Orient the first night as we had Saturday to Saturday at the Atrium and needed somewhere for one night. The first two days the water at Orient was clear and good beach. Yesterday, I noticed a change in current and water conditions. The water clouded up and more current. It was just a preview of things to come. Today, when we arrived at Orient, the water was coming in so far it had created a cliff, and most of the beach only had room for one row of chairs. In front of the Perch, there were no chairs. It was so bad, they had set some chairs and umbrellers up on the volleyball court due to no room on the beach. It appeared that with abnormal high tides, a full moon and on shore winds, the beach sand was being carried out. I saw on the Weather channel, the east coast of Florida was experience high tides and it appears that was the case at Orient. We have 10 more nights on the island so hopefully things will improve.

We have been here at Royal islander since Sunday. Weather for most part is hot, sunny with an occasional shower. The waves at maho and Simpson are some of the biggest I have seen in my 13 trips. The front end loader is working each am to clear the road and the beach is beautiful.
We had an incredible meal (lasagna, spaghetti & meatballs) at pasta pizza trattoria in maho. It was on of the most enjoyable meals ever.
We had decided to go to soprano's for pizza and discovered it closed s o went back to the trattoria for pizza and Caesar salad. Both turned out to be very disappointing. Yesterday to orient and again rough sea in front of the shops. Club o side calm as usual and spectacular watching the huge waves break over the reef. We took in the jays ball game. At 3 amigos and happy they won. 3-a always fun. Genome is a terrific manager and the food amazing.
Over the years we have gotten used to visiting our bartender friends next door at sonesta maho. We would walk next door and had no bracelet but would buy our drinks. This time security was all over us and said what we ablready knew, that it was an all inclusive and bartenders are not permitted to sell anymore. We did get to visit ramon for a short time. I guess we'll just have to wait for the next management change for new rules and be able to visit Ramon, Cheryl and Felicia.
Off to SXM yacht club for breakfast with friends and then phillipsburg.

Taking a beach break today tho it looks to be shaping up to be a sunny nice day, after the early am clouds.
Vendor square in Marigot, take another peek at Baie Rouge, Maho for lunch or perhaps Karakters, maybe some Phillipsburg shopping. Grill out on deck for dinner. Then maybe Papagayos for 50's/60's tonite.
Stopped by Baie Rouge last Thur and waves were highest I've ever seen. Couple of brave guys in water who had to carefully time their extraction "run" to get out.
From there to Le Sands where water was very calm.

We have been here a week now and have 8 more days to go. The weather has been perfect and except for that one day with strange high tides, the water has been clear and beautiful. Friends are flying in today so looking forward to another great week.
