Today we have gone to Karacters out next to Marys Boon on Simpson Bay. We got there early and got great spots on the beach. Karacters gives you free lounges, chairs and umbrellas if you buy drinks. Just a word of advice, from today it appears you better get there early for a good spot unless if you don't care to be close to the water. It is one of the great new spots for on the beach days. They serve great drinks from soda to mixed drinks to wine. Their food is good and not pricey. Not your chicken/hamburger/ribs type food. Almost restaurant quality food. We spent about 5 hours there and I got Waaaay to much sun. I was suffering already on the way back to our rooms.
We decided that since we had so much sun and were all tired we would go to the new Greenhouse on Billy Folly Rd early, get 2 for 1 drinks and eat fairly light. The drinks are great for 2 for 1 drinks. They didn’t appear the least bit watered down. One of your group of five had the Taco Salad which was acceptable but nothing to get excited about. Four of us had the Fish and Chips which is fantastic. The fish is light, the batter is light and just taste great. One of our group is a Fish and Chips aficionado and says this is some of the best she’s had. And that’s decades of Fish and Chips eating. This is a nice place with good service and food for a cheap night out. At least cheap considering we’ve had a couple of $100+ per person meals the last week. I think it cost us less than $30 per person including drinks.
The sun took a lot out of me so this is a bit abbreviated compared to the usual. Tomorrow we are going to the Holland House in Phillipsburg for breakfast, a little shopping at Oro Diamante and our BBQ in the evening. Ta Ta my friends…..
