Well here we are at day eight already. The start of our second week here. One of the ladies who came in on Saturday is having a Pasta Party. Just a pool day today with a brief run into the airport to pick up 3 family members who share in the unit I’m in. Pick up was a breeze as I got there a little late. The traffic by the way has been busy but not terrible unless the bridge is up. If the bridge is up you have to be on your calmest behavior. It can literally be a nightmare. Stopped at Sharon’s for a phone on the way in and was back in pretty good time. Continental got in a little early. It seems when we came in and responses from others as they get here the baggage is coming out pretty fast and the immigration lines are quick as well. Six of us (3 I just picked up) had a real nice lunch in our unit. Went back to the pool for a few hours after that. Time for the pasta party came pretty quick and I was thinking this was going to be a problem of one kind or another. With 27 people parked in front of a one bedroom B unit here at Pelican. Management got us extra chairs and tables. We had three tables of 6 out front with 3 chairs over to the side and the other 6 ladies ate inside. It was really quite nice. Three different sauces and pastas and a great salad with goat cheese, spinach and cran-raisins. I loved it all. Plenty of wine on hand as well. I think I counted about 10 bottles on the table at one time. All had a nice evening of chat and chow. I think we were there about 2 and a half hours. The hostess did a fabulous job pulling off all the cooking herself. Oh there were plenty of deserts as well. Most bought at Le Sucriere earlier in the day. We have a BBQ planned for Thursday with even a few more people. Should be interesting. Thanks to all for all the nice responses so far and I hope those who are silent are enjoying my reports as well. We’ve got some great restaurants planned for the rest of the trip. Oh by the way 4 of our group did Saratoga last night. They loved the food, but thought the service was a bit slow to say the least. Since we had gone on Saturday and they on Monday my thought was it was the restaurants slow day and they didn’t have the same staff on duty. We have another group going there tonight, so I guess we will see if this is something with weekdays as opposed to weekends or just that yesterday was a blip.
