Day 3 and realization that we are back in Paradise has set in.
Bumpy flight down on Delta did not help my already anxiousness.!

Checked into Royal Palm for 4 nights before moving to Beachside Villas. Very nice accommodations although they are a bit dated. Love two bedroom, two bathrooms and our sliding glass door leads out to a nice section of beach and only several feet from pool.

Enjoy the swim up bar and 2 for 1 cocktails from 2-6p. Nice staff but the food service is slow and appetizers we had were meh!

Breakfast at SMYC yesterday for proverbially loody Mary with 3 shrimp and eggs Norwegian.

Dinner at Skipkacks last night was very good along with a comfortable breeze. It's been hot and humid last couple days. I had 2 lb lobster ($19.95 lb) and David had pan fried grouper. Both meals were very good and by 7p the restaurant was quite full. We saw more than several "reserved" signs on table. SJ does add 15% service charge to bill.

After dinner we stopped to visit and have a drink with our friend Patrick who runs Pat's Roadhouse before meeting other friends at Topper's Halloween party. Music and special drinks were offered. It was so humid and still not feeling 100% so we left at 10p.

Sounds like a nice beginning to your trip. Sorry you weren't feeling the best. Not surprised that you weren't totally impressed with the bar and restaurant at RP, as they haven't been very good for a long time.

Are the Bloody Marys at the Yacht Club just as good as they were when Sid was making them?

I was thinking mimosa but Bloody Mary might be the fix. Thanks for the inspiration.

Sorry to hear you aren't feeling well, but welcome home!

We must've just missed running into you yesterday at breakfast.

Thanks for sharing, Louise. Hope you're feeling better by now and you're able to fully enjoy (and share?) the rest of your trip.

And isn't that one of the really nice features of your soon to happen BSV stay? You really can relax there and not feel the absolute need to be on the run all the time since staying there means you already have the best of SXM at your fingertips. Enjoy!

Respectfully,

pat

You're welcome. The Bloody Marys at the SMYC are exceptional.

Yes BM were still excellent. They have a great nighttime bartender who was mixing cocktails with great speed as was the wait staff serving. I think he said his name was Slavi?

We are hooked on cucumber vodka in our Bloodies. Not many bars have it but Effin is a good one.

Not a fan of cucumbers in my cocktails even though I love them raw.
