Anyone used them? Have an opinion? Considering a three or four week bareboat charter and they seem to have the best discounts for longer terms.

I have used Seabbatical as charterer, owners agent/captain for a boat in the fleet and I also have sailed with the owner.
The ownership is not BVI based, but there is a very good local boat manager. Many of the boats are older charter boats and some lack some of the cool features of the newer boats. With that said, this is more like using your boat at home for a month. Great pricing, but you probably will have some work around on issues.
Bottom line, would I charter from Ron again? Yes. It is hard to find a charter company that will fill the niche that he is. He gets several 4-6 month charters a year. Much cheaper to charter than to purchase.

I'm curious as to whether you ever contacted and/or agreed on charter with Ron. I've posted here several times regarding a long term (6-10 week) charter this May - July and did talk to Ron as well. Still haven't secured anything, but getting closer.

We just brought our boat to Seabbatical in Dec; first 1 month charter went with no issues; we are using owner time in Feb so will see if they have all the little issues we had from the last fleet sorted.first impression of the crew was great. But will see in a couple of weeks. Think the maintaince and finishing touches will be better than our previous experience. Probably depends on the boat and how much gets upgraded. We want all to be as close to 100% as you can in a 2006 boat.

A few years ago We met a family ending a three month charer with Seabbaticl at Pirates, we Talked to kids and parents. They said it was a fantastic experience. Kids did a semester at sea, schoolwork and read lots of books, not much internet and didn't miss it after a while.
Parents said boat was obviously not new, had a few minor issue, for three months, it was to expected and as experienced cruisers, nothing they weren't used to. T hey loved it and the kids wholeheartedly endorsed.
JPH I spent my money on booze, broads, and boats...the rest I wasted.
