Trying something different with photos. I hope you like them linked as it's very easy to do with Google+ Photos. Let me know if the links work for you. We woke early today and to our delight the sun was shining bright so we decided after breakfast on our deck from Zee Best we would lay in the sun and read our books. It was our first full day of sun in at least 5 days. https://goo.gl/photos/Fv34NTiYadpW4obW9A side note for earlier risers. Zee Best take-out location was just opening at 6:30a when David arrived and Maho Express was also opening when David went for a newspaper. He was told the Daily Herald is not published on Sunday's. The ocean waves were rough all along Simpson Bay so I opted for a swim in the pool before we headed out for lunch at SMYC. It was a great day to lounge around but we had no food in our villa and the almond croissant for me and chocolate for David didn't satisfy us much pass early afternoon otherwise it really was a perfect day to relax on the beach. At the Yacht Club we chatted with Brian who we had not seen earlier in the week before settling in to eat. David had a burger with fries and cole slaw and I had the coconut shrimp. Both were very good. We timed lunch so we could see the yachts enter the marina but the bridge didn't raise as there were no boats needing to enter. https://goo.gl/photos/2iBubWqXY56dGTHR6https://goo.gl/photos/YCFu343rFFU7gs417Thunder and heavy cloud coverage around 5p followed by a big down pour solidified our plans to stay in the Maho area for dinner. We drove to Driftwood and ordered a pizza. While we waited I had a delicious Banana Colada. Drinks as good as I remember. Pizza didn't take long to cook and we were on our way back to villa to relax and watch some football. https://goo.gl/photos/hSQWLfhvPSPoDUXf7Two more very satisfying days in Paradise .

Louise--the links work fine. You can click on the picture, once it comes up, to make it larger, which is nice. Glad you had some sun for a change!

Very good . Heavy rain this morning woke us up at 4:30a and we did not return to sleep. David has been taking his early morning walk and tells me the skies are clearing so we are off to Orient.

Or do I need coffee and glasses? Edit: the answer is glasses!lol. The white sky under the dark cloud cover looked like a wave to a blurry eyed tired kitten, who's also looking at the pic on a little iPhone screen. Yikes!

Louise have a great beach day! I think all our days will be on the beach when we get there--hope the surf calms down.
Carol, I didn't see waves either....

That last one doesn't qualify as 'crashing' to me, very small waves??

My only request about the photos would be to have a short description next to the link. Like Carol, I'm not crazy about food pictures, and would skip those, but love to see photos of people and scenery.

Louise,
Personally speaking, I'm thrilled that people take the time to post their trips in any manner they choose to do so, be it food photos, scenery and people shots or bar hopping party locations. To me it's all good and enjoyable and does seem to make the waiting a little easier.
But to clarify, I could easily do without the food pictures and like GaKaye, I'm more into scenery and people shots. but I have no objection to them either since I know there are many here who live for them.
Bottom line, anyway people want to share their trips is good by me and appreciated by everyone here, I'm sure.
Respectfully,
pat

I use Google plus photos all the time and it is very easy to post your pictures from there the usual way so that the picture actually shows up in your post. LINKING each picture is not nearly as effective, but better than no picture at all.Just upload your Google plus pictures to an Web album and you are good to go. Thanks for your reports and enjoy the rest of your vacation which is going past quickly!

For some reason, I don't think they ever look particularly appetizing. Something just gets lost in the translation!

"I realize I'm in the minority about food photos. For some reason, I don't think they ever look particularly appetizing. Something just gets lost in the translation!" I feel the same way. Just to show a plate of food doesn't tell me much. Besides to have to wait to eat while your food gets cold so someone can take a picture makes no sense.

Agree 100% with GaKaye. Many of the photos are completly opposite of appetizing. The OP may have enjoyed the meal but the pictures are turn offs.

OK, guys, does it HURT you if someone posts food pictures??? No. I appreciate when anyone is kind enough to share their trip with those of us who are on long countdowns...

Seriously? A big part of reviews on this site are on food. In every shape and form. What have I posted food photo-wise that looked unappetizing? It isn't as if you can post photos of the Louvre or Grand Canyon while vacationing here.
I'm not going to post photos of our friends w/o their permission and the beach and waves are just that.
I'm a long time poster on this site and would hope people would appreciate that I'm taking precious time from my vacation to include photos.
Carol feel free to close this thread before I say something I regret

I'm so sorry if I started this! I absolutely appreciate every single post that people make from the island! What I was trying to say, and obviously did so very poorly, was that the photos usually don't do the food justice. And that's not the fault of the photo; it's just that it's hard to get the magnificence of a dish across in a picture.

Louise--You are one million percent right. You are taking time out of your vacation to post photos, regardless of what they are...
I will close this thread now before I say something I will regret..
