could someone tell me the going cost of buying a parasail ride on Orient? Also, what time of day in Dec. will most of the beach bars be closing. And what is the cost of chairs at Bikini if we stay for lunch? Also, besides the reef in front of Pedro's where are other good spots to snorkle on Orient? Thanks, TandP

Last year I think someone told me a 20-minute parasail was $70? In Feb, the beach bars are winding down between 4 and 5, when the sun gets off the sand... I would imagine it'd be the same in Dec. Green Caye and Pinel both offer some decent snorkelling; also you can walk south from Orient to Le Galion and snorkel there.

I think we paid $100 for two together back in 2008. Not something we would ever do again. Just not worth it. Would rather put that towards an all day sale on the Tiko Tiko.

I snorkel on Orient and usually enter the water near the sport shack on Orient as the current will carry you back over the reef off Pedro's. Have seen octopus and giant eagle rays near club O. The reef is superb for colorful smaller critters and fish.

The beach bars / restaurants begin closing anytime between 3-5pm during high season. Some are closed 1 day a week. Papaguyos remains open until 10pm everyday.

is there any good snorkeling opportunities at Mullet Bay beach? how about any other beaches besides Orient. Been snorkeling at Orient and it's ok but not real good, in my opinion.

No 1st hand experience
but
last winter at Baie Rouge saw several enter the water at the far right end [facing the water] and snorkel off to the right, they went around the rock cliff and we lost sight of them. They were away for an hour?

Baie Rouge - if driving from Marigot thru the lowlands, at some point the road makes a hard left trun, at that bend, a road runs straight ahead, follow that road 200 yds? and you are in a parking lot above Baie Rouge. An "attendant" will find you and take you to chairs [$20 for 2?] if no need for chairs, you might consider a small tip anyway as they patrol the car park

2. then under "select city" go to "Saint Martin - Marigot"
