Hi. Just got back from sailing the BVI's with the Caribbean Cruising Club, had a wonderful time, if you want to learn to sail and learn the ins and outs about the local scene, this is the trip for you. Loren and Joe are wonderful hosts with a wealth of knowledge of the area, Joe is a great cook with plenty of food and Loren is a great knowlegeble story teller. They have years of experience which they are happy to pass on to you. You may sail and work on the boat as much as you want or not at all if you choose. I learned a lot from Loren on sailing and using the correct equipment.
They know where all the best/cheapest/most fun/happyhours are. Be prepared for some fun, they liked to party as much as we did. It made for some very enjoyable evenings. We got to meet a lot of the local people, Micheal Beans, Foxy, ect.
Even though we have our own sailboat back home in Minnesota, we wanted to experience and learn ocean sailing and some day return to the BVI. This trip was valuable to acheive that goal. Loren and Joe explained a lot for us and gave us the ins and outs of sailing equipment, what to buy, what is junk, and what is good. Even brought us to a boat yard and showed us boats for sale. The trip to Anagada was a wonderful lesson in navigation and sailing the big waves. "Course these waves were nothing for Loren and Joe" but to us it was a new experience. We are going to have many fun evening viewing the Videos we took. So, if you want to be a full time deck hand for a week or want to sit and relax, the choice is yours with the Caribbean Cruising Club. " Oh yeah", forgot to mention the cooler that never runs out of beer. And Squeek the Cat. Thanks Joe and Loren., from Bob and Eileen
