Looking for beach bar recommendations for Orient. In the past we always went to Andy & Cheryls, but the last couple of years we didn't even make it to Orient. Suggestions for a cool place to hang out, relaxed, not too expensive, a great burger?? Thank you in advance!

Haven't been since the redo on the buildings but the consensus on the posts have been La Playa, Orange Fever and Aloha. I was always a fan of Aloha for the food and service but would go to La Playa with the acquisition by Bruno of Dreams fame.

LaPlaya is our choice for beach, ambience, food and service.

We like Aloha, The Sun Clubber, and Pedro's where we usually slit the chicken and ribs, If you don't mind the C/O side the Perch makes a great burger plus we feel Papagayo's has improved a lot and are now one of our favorites. We look forward to trying LaPlaya this year after seeing all the great reviews.

We had two wonderful lunches at Chez Leandra's last week - their curry chicken was fabulous as well as the other dishes we ordered.

Our "Bar of Choice" is Aloha. This will be our 7th year staying at Orient and found Aloha the first year. Natalie is the best and the food is amazing. Staying at LaPlaya this year for the first time. We have heard great things about the changes with that property. We can't wait until March.

Can't wait to see Leandra again soon! Love the local dishes she cooks up! Is Zelman (her son) still there?

I think so, the young man serving us seemed like family. Such nice people.

Really, I challenge folks to come up with a bad choice...everyone is improving and stepping up their games. I have been on that beach for 25 years and some will remember the original Bikini and Kon Tiki which were wonderful in the day but the new ones are good in their time. Looking forward to see a renewed La Playa and while many were sad to see the shacks go the old owners seem to be doing well. Even Club O keeps reinventing itself.

Recently purchased by Bruno, who also owns Dreams, La Petite Casino, Yellow Sub etc. Great food and service.

We love Coco, Aloha and GP's, Yellow Sub is great, but the bathroom area is horrible (I know...its a public bathroom) Hopefully Bruno can improve those since he is acquiring more and more in the village area.

I second that. She is one of the nicest people you could ever meet. I am glad she is still there. I have lunch there every time I am on Orient
