Flew US Air outta Charlotte.
Arrived on time to hot & humid weather.
Immigration was easy & fast.
Rainy for New Years.
Then sunshine and warmest water we've had for this time of year. Spent most of our time at Ace doing repairs & maintenance. Had a great day on Pinel! Lunch at Karibuni.
Drinks at the Orange bar.
Spent a day at Orient, lunch at Andy & Cheryl's. New place looks great! We were at Bikini. Some tourist looking guy came running by with a pair of ladies shoes in his hand..folowed by a woman chasing him. A beach guy stopped him and tackled him. Apparently, he had shoplifted the shoes from one of the boutiques. Well, he gave the shoes back and went on down the beach. Then the Monserrat ash came in with some rain. Tried to go to Karakters one day. I guess we arrived too late--very crowded and no parking! We checked it out and would go back. The menu looked great!
Went to Jimbo's for margaritas & nachos one day--it was ok
Went to BBB for BBC's. Love the vibe there...much better than SSBG...friendlier and better prices. We were at Mullet most days. Rosies, DaLeo's and Gus's for ribs. Went to marina Royale to check out new Auberge des Isles. Very attentive service and good food. Cafe de Paris was also very nice--great goat cheese salad & pizza. Had a special dinner at Mario's, waterside table, fantastic food & service. Wahoo sushimi & seared tuna--yummie. Time went by too quickly! Flight home was a disaster. 15 minutes after take off we blew an engine and had to emergency land at San Juan. Long waits, long lines, overnight at Best Western at airport-small ucomfortable bed--But, the restaurant there makes great sushi. Flew back to Charlotte the next day. Tired and glad to be home, safely. Oh well, time to plan the next trip!
