What a nice Friday afternoon treat. Really enjoyed seeing Charleston and Beaufort again. Hope you have a great weekend.

And next time get off I-95, take 295 in Petersburg go around Richmond - Exit on 301N to Harry Nice Bridge and you are back in Maryland! And you would not have to see DC or sit in on I-95 from Fredericksburg to Lorton.

301 is a beautiful ride, for sure. Gotta say though, traffic must have changed in the DC area if the traffic going toward the beltway stops at Lorton these days!! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Grin.gif" alt="" />

Thanks for the report! I had to laugh about the South of the Border comment!! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Grin.gif" alt="" /> And 80 is "reckless" under Virginia law! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Laugh.gif" alt="" /> It's been a long time since we've made the I95 trek and I miss it not at all! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Crazy.gif" alt="" /> Beautiful pictures and a nice report though!

We did detour Richmond southbound, but on the way north, we stopped to visit my sister, who lives west of Richmond, so there was no avoiding the craziness. Luckily, the express lanes were open northbound on I-95 in Virginia (at $5.90 for the trip), so at least we got to go fast. At that point, we just wanted to get home.
