I thought I would be posting daily updates but I guess it just didn't happen so here goes. Sunday we got up and opted out of our daily walk down Billy Folly Road and the hills. We just wanted to go to the beach. We left for Orient at 9:30. It was an overcast morning with just a little bit of sun. Orient was very quiet and windy. Got 2 chairs at Pedros and it was time for our rum punch. Sun wasn't abundant but it was still very nice. Skies opened up around 12:30 which sent us into Pedros. Decided to have lunch which was ok. I had a fish sandwich, Scott had a hamburger. Met our friend "rastaman" who was selling his CDs. Every year we seem to buy them and enjoy listening to them at home. We even helped him with a few sales waiting for the rain to stop. Sun finally came out so we went back to our chairs until the skies opened again. We decided to leave at 2:30 since it didn't look promising. Went back to the Atrium and the sun came back out at 4 so we found a few chairs and was ready for the afternoon nap! Stayed there until 6. Decided to go to Toppers for dinner. Started off with Coconut Shrimp which was just ok, kind of greasy. I had my favorite Grilled Chicken and Mango Salad and Scott had a Caribbean Salad. We really didn't feel like a big dinner so this just hit the spot. After dinner we walked over to La Bamba. Great crowd and great music!
Monday morning we got up and did our morning walk. It felt great to be out in the warm air. Today we were going to go to Mullet. We got there at 10:30 and it was very quiet. The water was calm and beautiful. Lots of clouds and also had a few of those "locally passing showers" When the sun did come out it was very warm. Great day at the beach! Headed over to Sunset Bar to watch some planes and had a rum punch. Planes are fun to watch but the RP was a disappointment. We left before the skies opened again. Very unsettled here this week. Dinner was at IZI which was great! Started with a Shrimp Brushetta, an evening special. We both had pasta. I had mine with a marinara sauce and veggies and Scott had a ham stuffed pasta with a mushroom sauce. Both were delicious! After dinner we decided it was time for a math class so we went to the Hollywood Casino for some Blackjack. I was out quickly, Scott played for a while and won back everything that I lost!
Our first 2 days were great even though the weather hasn't been the best. It certainly better than a good day at home!
