I was going to post a trip report when I got home but decided to do a daily log or a least attempt to since I have enjoyed reading others. They always make me feel like I am in beautiful SXM. Started off very early yesterday from BOS. Our flight was at 5:30 to MIA via AA. Check in and flights were uneventful. Landed in SXM on time and got off the plane. Were were stunned to see the line for Immigrations. Waited in line for 45 minutes something we have never had to do once we cleared we found our bags met the rep from Unity who took us to get our car. BTW there was no traffic! Check in with Michael was quick as always and we were off. Next stop Sharons for our phone that too was quick. Got to the Atrium picked up our room key and unpacked our suitcases. It was great to be home again! Decided to go for groceries so we went to Grand Marche in Cole Bay. The skies opened up while inside put it was just a passing shower and we all know what those are like. Got back to the Atrium put everything away and we were now ready for "Happy Hour" let our vacation begin! First stop Greenhouse. Had a few "beverages" and some popcorn shirmp which were very good. Talked to some terrific people from Canada. Stayed there until 6:30 then decided we needed dinner so we headed over to Lee's something we always do on our first night. I had the Grilled Red Snapper which was delicious and Scott had the Grilled Yellow Tuna which was also good. Sides were just boring but we just love the fish! After dinner we decided to go to the Buccanneer for a "nightcap" I can't even believe I am calling it this since it was only 7:45! Was pleased to see Henrique (sp) since we haven't seen him since he left Indys. Back to the room and in bed by 9! Initial impressions of the island on our first day...Was pleased to see no traffic although we know that will all change on Monday, loved the Midas Roundabout, and thought that the main roads were cleaner than normal. We are off to Orient today to let sand gravity take over our lives for the next 2 weeks!
