One really interesting aspect about the game last night is that this is the 60th anniversary of UNC's first Final 4 win. In 1957 UNC played 3 overtimes to beat Mich. St. in the semi-final game and 3 overtimes to beat Kansas in the final game. That Kansas team featured Wilt Chamberlin, and UNC capped the only undefeated season in school history.
My closest connection to Gonzaga is that I worked 120 miles south of there in the summer of 1965 in the green pea harvest. Not exactly a glamorous summer job, but I did get to drive across the country (twice) and went up the Space Needle when it was 3 years old.
