A new find for us. Near the campus of AUC. Very simple pasta dishes. Nothing on the menu over $12. Nightly specials as well. Operated by Enzeo of the Larosa family. Nice new location in the middle of a new student housing development. Several new eating establishments near by.

You're still there? So jealous!!
We had heard very good things about this spot but didn't realize it was Enzo LaRosa' place. Too few nights and too many restaurants so we'll put it on the November list. Thanks for the affirmation of the good reviews we already heard....
And here's one for you - we really enjoyed our evening at Melange at Port de Plaisance and it's a fun evening particularly for a group. They've got incredible salad bowls there but I won't spoil it by saying more..... <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" />

Actually, no, the apartments that are in what is called Jordan Village are built on what used to be undeveloped land. What is left of Treasure Island are the buildings you see at the back end of the Starz (formerly Atlantis) Casino parking lot. At one time they were going to be turned into a development called Starz City however that plan was abandoned. They were sold to AUC last year and AUC intends to build additional housing and other facilities on the property. Target date for completion is August 2018.

Back in the late 70's or very early 80's we stayed at Treasure Island Resort. It was a cool place with a big pool and swim up bar on that hillside and down below in what is currently the parking lot for Starz, there was another pool and a courtyard with some great little shops. I think we may still have the papier mache parrots from one of those shops kicking around somewhere.
Jordan Village is definitely a whole different community in what was once a totally undeveloped area and is an asset to the AUC and all those who live in that area today. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" />

Right around the corner from Spaghetti House, in one direction, is Little Beirut and in the other, Little Taste Factory. Each is a smaller version of their Simpson Bay location. There's also Bar Code and Fat Tony's, of course, and also Jules Bakery which offers delicious breakfast pastries as well as paninis, salads, sushi and a variety of other lunch items. Right next door is Vegolution which offers vegetarian dishes (of course). The entire neighborhood has really picked up since Jordan Village opened. There are also new retail stores coming to the Jordan Village tower being built now.
