Can you see the show without paying for the BBQ?

It's more the thought of waiting around with a lot of people for a buffet when it's hot and people are crowded together doesn't sound appealing. The show sounds fun so if thats the only way to see it the group will deal with it, but I was just trying to find out if there was another option.

Yes. However, the tables closest to the Jumbies will be taken by those with reservations for the BBQ. I have seen the Jumbies many times. Been to the BBQ twice, very good.

Am I the only one who really hates buffets???..and the Leverick one is very good..but standing in line for a mixture of a dozen things that don't go together and have been sitting on warming dishes. I love to sit down..order just what I want, enjoy a glass of wine and have it brought to me..

And that is why I want to skip the buffet and just watch the show! Glad I'm not alone.

Actually when we did the BBQ and jumbies, we had an 8 pm reservation - still plenty of great, hot food and no lines at all. For a buffet it's really quite good.

We had the buffet a few years ago and it was very good. I do not recall long lines. I am not a huge fan of buffets but did not regret getting trying this one and would do it again.

I really hate buffets but went to the Friday BBQ at Leverick because we had guests will young kids and we wanted to see the show. Gotta say, the buffet is spot on at Leverick. I simply chose to select items that work and had the best chance of matching what comes from a kitchen fresh. The standout on that buffet is the fresh roast pig!!

I'm picky and found plenty to choose from there.

If your definitely against the BBQ, the bar is always a option but I do recommend trying this one.

Ha! No you are not. I agree completely.

I also agree with others that as far as buffets go, Leverick's is pretty good.

We've done the buffet many times - not anything I'd consider a long line - we always get right to the start and make our way down the line at a good pace. The food is good and we've always enjoyed it. My only complaint would probably be that I never am hungry enough to take advantage of it smile

If you've never done it, give it a shot. It's at least worth doing it once to form your own opinion. But you certainly can eat on the boat and then go for the party and drinks.

I have to disagree with you on this one Malcolm. The Leverick buffet is well done and reasonably priced. The food is always fresh and properly maintained. It's truly one of the highlights of our many trips and we always take new guests to see the show and eat the BBQ. Nick and his crew hit it out of the park every time.

Malcolm said the buffet is very good, What do you disagree with? I also agree, being in the service industry, when we go out we like to be served.

Also agree that the buffet is very good, never any lines, and the food does in fact "match", i.e. salads, several veggies, fish, bbq pork, chicken, and fish. The food doesn't sit in a chafing dish long at all as the food is turned frequently. So you "serve" yourself in your own time without having to flag down a server. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Clapping.gif" alt="" />

My wife and I did the BBQ this past Friday the 5th for the first time. I've wanted to make it there for the BBQ for years but just never could make it work with our schedules. This year we started our trip on a Monday just so we could make it to Leverick on a Friday. I thought the BBQ was probably the best in the islands. There were no lines, just walked up, grabbed a plate and picked what I wanted. I guess there was a little over a 100 people there and the only time it was a little crowded was when the jumbies came out. The jumbies stayed over closer to the pool and everyone moved over to watch them. In my opinion the BBQ and the jumbies were great and we will do it again. If you didn't want the BBQ, you could just walk over and enjoy the show.

Looks like they're setting up for some special event with a stage and walkway over the pool: http://leverickbay.com/webcam
