Hi, we've bare-boated the Voyage 520 twice and looking to move up to the 580 or 600. Other than finding another couple to fork over the $3k for the extra cabin the 600 provides, are the two cats very different? thx, rrs

Also - do these come with an upgraded tender or is this an additional charge? thx, rrs

Can a mooring ball hold that thing in the wind?

Here we go again <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/duh.gif" alt="" />

The V600 weighs less than 20 tons; 4000lb less than a Moorings 514PC, and 30000lb less than the NPT mooring limit. Also, more than 5' of the OAL is the hollow back deck on the sugar scoops. I have tied up to moorings and, after inspecting them (as I would no matter the size of my boat), slept soundly knowing that my boat posed no greater threat to the ground tackle than most smaller yachts in charter.

They are very different. The V600 has 6 full cabins, 6 full en-suite heads, plus a queen-sized "pain cave." The V580 has 5 full cabins, 6 full heads (5 en-suite), and a queen-sized "pain cave."
So, you get a true extra cabin with the V600 - meaning all 12 guests can sleep in their own proper room. On the V580, if you want 12 guests somebody is getting the shaft (i.e. getting the "pain cave").
In addition, the V600 is a newer build, so you're going to get updated electronics and amenities. For example, the V600 Jus' Chillin has a 70gph watermaker, ice maker (which is more awesome than I thought it would be), 3-zone bluetooth-enabled audio system, full navionics suite including radar, etc.

The tender with the V600 is larger than a normal tender. However, if you're looking for the center-console 70hp tender that is an additional cost of $200/day.

Voyage has specials on dinghy upgrades from time to time, but the regular upgrade price is $200/day, as stated above.

It seems like the 600 has a bit more freeboard than the 580, so having a taller person to snag moorings is good.

We had a forward cabin on the 600 and it had zero storage space. We pretty much lived out of our bags.
