We have gone to SXM for years but have always gone to Orient and basically stayed on the French side. Our next trip is at Christmas, so I need to book a condo quickly.
We want to stay close to Mullet this time. Does anyone have any suggestions for condos in that area? $200-$300/night for 2 br for 7 nights with kitchen?
TIA for your help!

Do a VRBO search. I found a 2 bedroom 2 bath condo at Blue Marine that is available the 23rd Dec to the 30th Dec for $250 per night. Plenty of options out there.

I stayed at Blue Marine last Nov/Dec in a drop-dead gorgeous condo that's 2 BR, 3 BA. Views are spectacular. The pictures on VRBO don't do it justice. Owners were very helpful and it's equipped with every amenity known to man. If I didn't have a timeshare, I'd stay there again in a heartbeat. It's VRBO 437060. They don't have their December calendar showing so contact the owner, Stephen Wright. $229/night.

All things comparable size and price-wise, of the two, I'd opt for the Cupecoy Beach Club because it actually abuts Mullet Beach and has stairs down to its own beach besides, assuming the Cupecoy beaches are there. And on top of that, the grounds are lovely and the ocean views are incredible. The other Cupecoy advantage is you do have some convenient venues you can walk to and that is definitely NOT the case at Blue Marine. I actually am not too fond of the road leading in to BM either, particularly the exit from there to the main road through Maho, but the views are beautiful looking towards the golf course and the lagoon. Our timeshare is directly across the golf course and the lagoon looking towards Blue Marine and the views are great.
I don't think you could go wrong with either one as they both have lovely suites and like everything else, they each have their own pros and cons.

Kind of surprised if you've been able to find Rainbow or Cupecoy Beach Club for your budget for Christmas week, but there are a huge number of new lodgings in that area now. Rainbow had some issues in the past with the management not doing maintenance outside. So if the bad reviews you saw of Rainbow are old, I might discount those. Although you would have to work around timeshare calendars, which might not work for you, you might check into Ocean Club, Sapphire, which are right on Cupecoy, or the Towers, the Summit or Royal Islander, which are close. There are also some 2 or 3 level townhouses at Ocean Club which have a lovely view of the ocean.

Congrats. My daughter and son in law love it there, and having seen a few units I can see why. The grounds are quite lovely and if you're lucky enough to have secured an ocean view unit, the relaxing sounds of the waves are incredible.
The security is very good, too, from what we could see. We forgot their unit number and since they had the units listed by owners and not tenants, the only way they would allow us onto the grounds was by accompanying us to find our family, unlike so many places that just raise the security gates and let you in if your story sounds good.

Feeling lucky to get this unit and excited to try this area. We stayed there a few times in the past and just walked to Mullet. It was perfect. Now there is so much more in the area. It should be a great location for you.
