Never understood why these islands don't have garbage burning power plants. Seems like a natural fit.

Where I live in Lee County FL we burn our garbage (after all recyclables have been sorted out) to create power. Only the remaining ash is put into a landfill. Talk about renewable energy. Best idea ever.
