Was unable to print-out boarding passes ahead of time, knew we'd have to see an agent at the airport. Due to the now even tighter security the fact that our last name is 2 words (on passports) but listed as 1 word on DL & C.Cards caused hitch. Easily resolved, thank God! What wasn't easily resolved was the guy on the asile seat next to me. As soon as the crew came around (8:30am) he started knocking back DBL vodka/orange juices. Guess he was starting his vacay early. Mr. Lush (no foolin, tha't his name) was an amiable sort who just had to sit with both elbows jutting out which made sitting next to him very squished. After 6 libations his oratory was slurred and his gestures expansive-so expansive that he swiped his last drink off the tray table towards me and MY NEW LAPTOP! Luckily both his aim was off (small wonder)and my laptop was DBL bagged, but still!! Landed in San Juan amid threatning skys and soon after a torrential downpour that closed the runways for over an hour delaying our next flight. We finally left and the pilot explained it'd be a bumpy trip. Wasn't so bad at first, I took flying lessons way back when so the bumpies don't usually faze me Then it got rougher with the plane diving at times and the thermals causing us to be pushed up or dropped down abruptly. First time I've flown where several used the sickness bags. Landing was surprisingly smooth. Unable to collect our 'valet carryons' as lightning has started. Baggage/carryons put on wrong carousel. Found 'em, got the rental car and drove thru rainforst like downpours to Le Petite Plage and The Dove's Nest. Happily reunited with Emil & Suzy, unbacked and off to Spiga for an amazing meal and end to quite the journey! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Clapping.gif" alt="" />
