I have a question for the group. Thinking about renting a car from Leverick to go to the Baths and Hog Heaven. Which rental company do you recommend? Which is the most convenient to pick up and return near the marina? I probably need room for 6, and prefer an automatic. Thanks!

Last Thanksgiving we rented a car to make the same trip. In the lobby at Leverick Bay Resort we were able to rent a car that was delivered to us. The price was in the $40 dollar range. This was less than a cab would charge and a enjoyable way to see the island. We did rent a automatic but you do drive on the left side!!

Contact Nick and he can arrange it for you. I forget who we last used.. Rental is 24 hours, which is why we often spend 2 nights - get in day 1, get the car towards the end of the day and get dinner out. Then the next day we visit the baths, Hog Heaven..etc and when timing works do this Thu/Fri so Friday night we do the BBQ. Then we're off somewhere else Saturday.

Nick will be on vacay pretty soon I think so if your trip is within the next week or two, I'd call him - otherwise, I'm sure you can set it up directly with L&S - they are the rental company. I've set it up with them directly when I do land-based trips and they meet me at the ferry in Spanish Town with the car when I arrive. They will deliver to Leverick for you as well. Great people, friendly service.

Thanks everyone. I've sent Nick a marina reservation request and asked about the car.

Nick leaves for vacation this Saturday so be sure to get all your details worked out with him soon. If he can't help you with the car, he referred us to Mohagany Car Rentals. They were very thorough and prompt with their response to my email inquiry. Good Luck!

If Monica and Nick her gone on vacation just address Melissa at the same e-mail. Getting a car or safari truck is a no brainer thru them.

Thanks all. Caught Nick before he left on vacation and he set up a montero for the 6 of us. Sorry I won't get to meet him on this trip. My last stop at Leverick there were no slips and Drakes anchorage was still in business. Dating myself I guess.
