2 years ago the sargassum was horrible. Handsome Bay was 4-5' deep and 150 yards wide. How is it this year? Wheels up in 10 days regardless...

Haven't heard much about it lately. There was a bunch a couple weeks ago, but haven't heard any mention since.

Here is what I can report, we got back on 6/24. Observed numerous large floating sargassum mats in SFD channel; beach face at Loblolly Bay, Anegada had thick (~15cm), wide (~4-5m) and continuous sargassum coverage; Cow Wreck beach and Anegada Beach Club had sparse and discontinuous sargassum cover. Saw no sargassum on Sandy Cay beach. Winds were easterly @ 15-22mph (typical for this time of year) so westerly facing beaches were much less or completely unsargassufied. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Wink.gif" alt="" />

Just saw a post on FB about an invasion at Trellis. Hope it is just passing thru. Not looking forward to beaches full of it

We got back on Saturday from a 10 day trip and it didn't seem too bad. We did not hit Anegada on this trip but I only noticed while underway.

There was a fair amount in the channel and on the way from Anegada, but not nearly as bad as 2 years ago.

I was at an East Facing beach in STT yesterday and the sargassum was thick - I spoke with a few fisherman on the way home and they said it is increasingly a problem of late.

We just got back yesterday. Saw some in the SFD channel but really didn't notice much on any of the beaches. was most noticeable in trellis bay. Really in my opinion, not to worry about. Didn't notice any in Anegada.
