We always bring IPods and play them through the boat stereo system. Everyone's taste is different. A few years ago, I remember picking up a good radio station which I think was out of St. Croix but I couldn't find it this last trip. At home, I listen to Tradewinds radio on the internet and it has quite a variety of music. Do you know of a good radio station that I can pick up on the radio while we are cruising? (No hip hop or rap, please).

Tradewinds used to be 92.3 in the BVI, but it's no longer on the regular radio. You can still get it through the internet.

Thanks. I'm looking for a radio station (fm or am) not an internet station.

You can pick up The Mongoose 104.9 in some areas, if you like classic rock.

list of radio stations I can get -- I do listen to Tradewinds Radio in my car here in STT -- I will look up the FM Mhz when I go out for a ride tomorrow.
There is also a great classical station coming out of PR - I will look that one up too - it is what gets me through STT driving!

Oh no! No more Tradewinds Radio in the BVI? It was my sanctuary from those really bad local stations. Now we mostly listen to podcasts we've downloaded to our phones.

Life involves risks, take some prudent ones (NOT with the BVI ferries)!

We really liked Tradewinds radio on 92.3 but the lost their transmit agreement in Virgin Islands about a year and half ago. I hope they can get back on air in BVI / USVI again soon...... does anyone know more about their prospects of returning?

Local Sailor just said she listens to it in STT. They lost their agreement with the BVI.

92.3 "The Breeze" BVI Mix of Island Hits, Country, Etc.
93.5 Country USVI
96.1 "Pirate Radio" USVI Buffet to Adele to Reggae
100.3 Reggae USVI
104.3 "The Buzz" USVI Rock! (sometimes with an edge)
104.9 "The Mongoose" USVI Classic Rock

There's more, but, those are the only buttons that still work on the Jeep radio.

Sometimes we live no particular way but our own...
