Is there a way to get travel insurance for a group that's booking two couples separately (for flights)?
AA offers it for just those booking together and I'm not sure if it would cover our VRBO cost or if it covers just the flights for my wife an I.
I'd like to get all the travelers and the housing under one umbrella.

I am assuming each couple is in a different household. According to the FAQ on insuremytrip, most carriers prefer everyone being in the same household, however, there are some carriers that will sell a group policy to people in different households. The only exception is if they live in different states, then they will need to be on separate policies due to different laws between the states. Insure My Trip has a lot of great info and is the best way to compare all kinds of different policies side by side. Insure My Trip, as well as SkyMed, are TTOL sponsors. If you book through the link here on the TTOL sponsors page, it doesn't cost you any more and TTOL gets a small commission.
