We're looking at a rental in the Oyster Bay Beach Club and were wondering if there are restaurants within walking distance. Or if not, what's close by in the general Oyster Pond area? Also, does OBBC set up chairs for guests' use on Dawn Beach?

We're regular visitors to the island but have never stayed in that area, and have actually avoided going to the beach there after the Westin was built, so just not familiar with the area. We know it's convenient to Orient and would likely drive to Grand Case for a dinner or two. We're spending a second week at Divi, so will plan to visit our Philipsburg and Simpson Bay favorites then.

Thanks for any info that Oyster Pond fans can share!

There are some good restaurants in that area. Mr. Busby's for breakfast and lunch but becomes Daniel's at night. There is also Island Pizza, Big Fish. You might want to drive to Captain Oliver's. Not too far but better to take the 2 minute drive.
Not sure about the chair situation.

Canoa is an excellent restaurant and is within walking distance and right across from Busby's. Also Beau Beaus and Infinity their in house restaurants are good. Yes they will set up beach chairs but their beach seems to be a magnet for sargassum seaweed.

Busby's sets up chairs for guests' use on Dawn Beach. Also it has a great beach bar vibe during the day with low cost beers and good food. Daniels at night is really great too, upscale atmosphere but with reasonable prices and fine cuisine. Across the pond is the Dinghy Dock right on the marina.

There are two sections of chairs for OBBR guests. First section is immediately as you decend the stairs from the resort. Then there are chairs set up by Mr Busby's from the The Great House to the end of Mr Busby's restaurant. Another group of OBBR chairs follows. A OBBR sign is on beach so you'll know.
There is also a nice little breakfast/lunch restaurant at the end of the pier across from Mr Busby's and past Canoa's. Serves good food in a wonderful setting looking at the boats in the marina. Can't remember it's name at moment.

Next SXM visit -November 2023. Also January 2024.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately the place we were looking at on VRBO had already been rented but the online calendar hadn't been updated to reflect it. So we're on to our second choice...a lovely looking rental by Orient. Certainly not a bad choice either!

We've rented a great place in Grand Case a couple of times but since it was already booked for our week in 2018, we're thinking it's a chance to try out staying in some other areas. So many wonderful places on the island!
