I haven't been in April, but have been in January and May. Temps aren't vastly different, but I like the slightly warmer temps and water you get in May.

We love both January and April. Late April-early May there is a pretty consistent rainy period. January we usually see some big winds. This year we stuck around St. John. The year before we tried to head to North Sound from St. Thomas, but we were getting hammered by wind and swell and bailed out for Jost.
