Dear Island Friends, We returned from a three-week escape to the Virgin Islands. The trip started with two weeks on Virgin Gorda where we rented a house near Spring Bay (Crosswinds) and enjoyed snorkeling all over that beautiful, sleepy island and eating at several of the Island’s restaurants. We took a delightful boat excursion with “Double D” to the Dogs and Cooper Island, which is always fun and educational with David who knows so much about the islands and their wildlife. We finished up with 9 days at Caneel Bay on St John, which is summer camp for adults done right where time spent there is always splendid from the staff to the many beaches & reefs. The best restaurant on St. John is La Toppa in Cruz bay. Also delicious was Sun Dog Café in Mongoose Junction and Uncle Joe’s Barbeque with the best ribs. It was marvelous, as always. We photographed and identified 180 fish and other wildlife this year, up from 157 last year. The pictures and the trip’s log can be found in a folder behind our website at the link: http://www.doppstein.com/ceramic_arts/frontpages/travels/VG10/index.htmlHope you enjoy them! Bob & Sharon
