Likewise, boats and barges with supplies are coming up from Guadeloupe and Martinique to both St Martin and St Barth, and 3 boats from Desirade delivered supplies to St Barth earlier this week. In most cases, this consists of people one one island reaching out to support people on another island, not government aid from mainland France.
Over in the USVI, boats are delivering donated supplies from Puerto Rico and St Croix to St Thomas and St John.
Disasters bring out both the worst and the best in people. This is one example of bringing out the best.
