Daily Herald ArticleWhile the intentions appear to be of a good nature, not sure how this will help much if it will take the ship a month to arrive in St. Maarten. Add to this the fact a large number (around 200) of dogs were airlifted off the island to the US, not sure I fully understand this shipment of food and the timing. I am not saying this is not a cause without merit, I just don't see how it helps much at this point due to the shipment time.

The article said there is a real long term need for pet food and food for livestock. I was thinking the other day that a good way to help our four legged friends on island is to donate to one of the local animal organizations or to donate money to Shop N Drop, earmarked for pet food.

Many times we have made donations at a couple different vets offices. Good idea on the donation with Jeannie.
