Just returned from a dockside overnight on the Carnival Conquest. She is replacing the Inspiration on the seven night Western Caribbean itinerary from New Orleans.

This is Carnival's newest addition to their fleet and the largest ship in the fleet at 110,000 tons. ....and she's a beauty!!!

We were in a verandah category 8C on Verandah Deck aft. Similar to the millennium class with Celebrity, I will use caution with balcony cabins on this deck aft. You can hear folks dragging chairs back and forth in the buffet area on the deck above.

The cabin was traditional Carnival balcony and nearly a duplicate of the Spirit cabin we were recently in. Three hanging closets, one with shelves that can convert to hanging, large vanity area that is well lighted, sofa and cocktail table, king bed and balcony. Like the Spirit, the wood used in the cabins is beautiful.

Joe Farcas used a french artist's theme on this vessel. We were seated in the Monet restaurant, two level and very spectacular. Carnival has updated their 'dining room' entertainment performed by the waitstaff. ...quite good...the macarana was getting "tired" [Linked Image] .

Did not get into the main show lounge but did spend a little time in the cabaret style Degas Lounge that, again, was very lovely and will have dance music. A wonderful little 'hideaway' bar, Gauguin's, just next to the shopping arcade area looked to be a wonderful spot for 'quiet' cocktails. The Tahiti Casino is huge.

The lighting design on the Promenade Deck is all pastel colored flowers and gorgeous. You enter the ship on Deck three in the Aritist's Lobby with slate flooring that, again, is magnificent.

This is a ship even I could sail on. We attempted to cover as much ground as possible with only being on board for less than 24 hours.
