Wow, just checked Delta prices from here (Knoxville, TN) to SXM via ATL in June. Just over $3700 for (2) tickets!!!! Even if we drive to ATL (3 hours from us), it's still $2095 for (2) tickets. hammer American from CLT not much better.

It's actually cheaper for us to fly Jet Blue from CLT to JFK, then JFK to SXM, even with an overnight stay at a hotel in NY on the return.

Disgusted at the price gouging that's going on. mad

Throw Toronto YYZ into your queries. We have gotten dirt cheap $5-600 RT on AA through CLT and MIA from there. We drive 6 hours to catch. We have done twice in June and painless once in Toronto.

No stops from Nashville to YYZ.

Might be easier than JFK. Sheraton in the terminal.

They seem to be all over the place. Friends got air on Delta from Cincinnati and St. Louis for under $600pp/rt. SImilar dates for me from Dayton are pusing $900 and this is for regular coach. AA was even higher.

I guess until the island stabilizes and demand increases rates will be crazy. Last year in Feb (2017) our fare was $1460 RT for two from Knoxville to SXM via CLT on American. BTW Ticker Factory is incorrect - obviously never made the November 2017 trip, and unsure of this years plans.

Are you looking at First Class? We found decent coach fares on AA from NC (thru CLT) for early May.

Nope. Those are regular coach fares. Just checked the AA website again and now it’s only showing flights from CLT with an overnight stop in Miami. I thought it might have been a glitch when I checked it late last night.

Edited to add: saw direct flights the other day, but not now.

Georgia--looks like to me you should double-check your flights. I'm not finding any nonstop from Charlotte to SXM in early May either.

Looks like the routes from Atlanta and Charlotte to SXM for Delta and American are sold out for June and July...If they don't add some flights through those hubs, we won't be able to go this summer at any price.

American just changed our reservations (got an email last night) in June from non-stop out of Philly to stopping in Miami. It does not appear that there are any alternatives (nothing out of Charlotte) other than the Miami to SXM route.

Glad I got my tickets for June out of Miami months before the hurricane!

Typically flights for us (Winnipeg - Toronto -St Maarten) are $800- $900 per person $CDN return. This year there are no Canadian airlines flying to St Maarten so our route is Winnipeg - Minneapolis - Miami - St Maarten. This route will cost us $1300 -$1400 per person $CDN return. We found huge price deferences during the same weeks depending on the day of the week that you choose. We'll pay the extra $ to get back to SXM. Tried Barbados earlier this winter. It was nice but not St Maarten. 45 more sleeps, but who's counting.

Ours are still good.....hoping it stays that way, but it doesn't seem promising based on what I'm reading here.

We've found that we can fly from DCA to Puerto Rico, then Puerto Rico to Anguilla....for MUCH less than getting to SXM. Maybe we will just do that and take the ferry over to visit...but not stay...

I had a June reservation (using miles) from Portland - PHL - SXM. I checked it yesterday and now it's PDX - PHL - MIA - SXM. I'm doing a redeye on the first leg so no overnight in MIA as others are having to do.

We had May flights for SEA to SXM going through CLT. That changed to a SEA-MIA-SXM. Our return still shows SXM-CLT-SEA for a Saturday in June. That flight is only available for Sat or Sun. Any other flight out of SXM on AA goes through MIA.

The flights we were on was full full and the demand very high for airline and hotels since so limited now so prices are higher too. More flights coming on line in spring, funny they don't add more flights now but that would drive prices down with more supply.

We decided to just book with Jet Blue out of NY. So we will be flying from CLT to NY to SXM and back again. Seems rather silly, but it was the most cost effective way to do this. We are traveling to SXM with good friends who live in NY anyway. Good thing my son lives in CLT; at least we have a base to work from. crazy

Well, after all the comments, I decided to log into my laptop instead of trusting the app on my phone. Yep, we're routed through MIA both going down and coming home. Not only that, the CLT/MIA flight departs at the same time our EWN/CLT flight departs. The CLT/EWN flight on the way home departs over two hours before we land in CLT. Guess I'll have to convince David to make the drive to CLT the night before we leave.

Returning home to RI in March I have to spend midnight to 6am in DCA before getting flight to PVD. SXM-MIA-DCA-PVD. Not gonna be fun.(but I am in SXM 6 weeks. That helps.)

Felt like I had to chime in. Just booked a United flight - Newark to SXM non stop in November (Sat to Sat) for $440 per. Best price I’ve seen in years. Go figure.......

Delta has reasonable fares through ATL. I just canceled our May AA flights and booked on Delta. The tickets were less than $600 each, compared to $837 each on AA. We'll have to drive two hours to RDU instead of only 40 minutes to EWN, but it's worth it.
