I’ve quickly glanced through all the updates for both sides of the island but I haven’t found any information regarding the once lovely Anse Marcel Beach Club. I remember reading it was very badly damaged along with RIU on the other end of the beach. Has anyone heard or have their been any updates re the status of the beachclub? It was one of my absolute favorites and I hope they are able to rebuild and reopen if they haven’t already done so.
Respectfully,
pat

Definitely my favorite beach and likely second-favorite beach bar. I have heard nothing and am also interested.

It was gone when I was there a little over a week ago. Lots of damage in Anse Marcel.

From their Facebook page on September 30:
"Ladies, gentlemen. Dear friends, dear customers Like many restaurants on the island, Irma has not spared us and the restaurant has a lot of damage. So we won't be able to welcome you for the coming season but no matter how long it takes.. We're doing everything we can to rebuild and get back to you as soon as possible. We would like to thank all those who have published or sent support messages See you soon"
Then on November 22, they posted, "We'll be back soon".

Thanks, Georgia. I recall reading this way back when and I keep hoping for a status update. They were the total package pre-Irma - a very swimmable beach with comfy seating, good food and good service. I so hope they are still on the road to rebuilding.

Yep, definitely no recent updates, but it seems they plan on rebuilding. I think a lot of the French side spots have been waiting for definitive rules from the government.

That's very good news! It seems it has been even more difficult for the French side---very sad.
I just found out that my son will be spending a day there in May (never thought I'd see the day-LOL), and I'm wondering what suggestions I could make. We will be there in April, so we will be able to get some ideas.

We've been wondering about Anse Marcel as well. We love that beach and the restaurant. One of our very favorites. Hope they come back soon!

Thanks for the quotes, Georgia. It's encouraging that they will be rebuilding and discouraging that it will take as long as it will.
