Greetings: While this may have been covered by other poster AA has added non-stop service from CLT and PHL for December. I have not researched if they are weekend only. The cost of the fare to purchase seemed relatively high. However, they were available for December weekend travel for 15K. Advantage Miles. Your experience may differ.

No, as of now, the schedule is showing nonstops from Charlotte and Philly in December. That could change, but they are there now.

Wouldn't be much point in looking at last December. We found great fares through CLT for our usual Nov/Dec dates for 2018. We've decided to wait until our visit in May to decide how long we'll stay. I didn't pay attention to "December" for any year in the post which was a mistake on my part. Our original flights for this May?June both went through CLT from SXM but now are through MIA with an overnight in MIA. We originally had a one day return leaving SXM at 8am and arriving SEA at 8pm same day.

It could be that the agent was correct, as they are limiting the number of large planes that are coming in now. You shouldn't have to be 'chasing' refunds as far as AA is concerned, as you are absolutely entitled to your money back.

For what it is worth, Delta has gone back to a 737 from ATL versus the 757 they had been using. Still a large plane but somewhat less capacity.

Thanks for the heads up! I just got great December flights thru CLT from DTW for 15k AA miles each way. On the island by 2:15p. Snagged the 9am flight out thru MIA, which gets us back to DTW at 4:40p rather than the usual midnight. Thanks again!
