Just back from a 2-week charter, so I thought I would share some current VIP experience. I applied 1st week of October and was approved for Gold VIP status within two hours, via email to Meslyn Allan: mallan@bvitourism.com (My wife applied the following day and was approved in one hour!)

Meslyn Allan attached the form “BVI VIP Arrival” along with my VIP status approval. I filled out the form with my arrival date & time including all the crew that were traveling with me. Meslyn confirmed the arrival info and arraigned a “VIP Greeting” for us at the airport.

Deplaning and walking towards Customs & Immigration we were pleasantly surprised to see a BVI official greeter with the VIP welcome sign, with my name on it. Everyone, my crew and the other passengers were impressed. We were escorted directly to the VIP lounge and offered a cold beverage, while our passports were taken to be processed and our checked bags retrieved and sent out to our waiting ride. As we lounged and chatted with Meslyn Allan about the VIP program, our stamped passports were returned to us and we were, at our leisure, escorted to curb side to our waiting ride and checked bags.

We definitely felt like VIPs! What a great way to kick-off a vacation!

I’m looking forward to more VIP greetings and an expansion of the discount program. (maybe here’s an opportunity for some TTOL sponsors to leverage off this program?)

Credit where it is due: Based on my experiences, Meslyn Allan is doing a terrific job with this program, which has previously languished. She is spot-on with follow-up and responsiveness, an uncommon virtue in any government agency, anywhere; she’s real positive for the BVI.
