Will try to keeep this brief and to the point. This was our 8th vacation in St. Martin and our 3rd stay at Green Cay.

Green Cay:

Stayed in villa #7 for the 2nd time. This villa has a million dollar view that stretches from Pinel Island to St Barts. The view is absolutely breathtaking! Unfortunatley, the villa is starting to show its age and lack of maintenance. There is some rotting wood that needs to be replaced and a lot of painting that needs to be done. We also had issues with the plumbing (sinks backing-up, not draining, shower draining slow, etc), the bedding (musty smelling pillows) and the overall cleanliness of the villa. It appeared that the villa may have been cleaned after the last guests, but then sat unused for a long time, allowing for a collection of dead bugs around each door and even in some of the drawers. The price for a villa with an awesome view was reasonable ($2065 for 8 nights) but we felt for that price, the villa should be clean and in good repair. It was not. The two gorgeous girls in the office (Charlotte & Marine) were helpful in getting the immediate problems resolved and they are both very pleasant and hospitable. However, we plan on looking elsewhere for a villa for next year.

Restaurants:

Ti Bouchon: Had read good reviews on TTOL and then checked them out on Trip Advisor where they are ranked #1 on the island. If you are going to judge on quality of food and service, they (Momo & staff) deserve that ranking! The building looks a bit dumpy and you'll need your mosquito spray, but it is worth it for the meal that you will enjoy.

Spiga: Always our first restaurant to visit on the island. The food and the service is always top-notch. Wife had the 14oz. veal chop, I had the tenderloin. Both were fantastic.

Piazza Piscal: Our first time trying this place. Great service, charming owners, but we didn't think that it lived up to its #3 ranking on Trip Advisor.

Sol e Luna: I chose Sol e Luna to celebrate our 33rd anniversary. The service was exceptional, the place is very romantic and the food is always good. Had been to Ti Bouchon the night before and Sol e Luna couldn't quite live up to that standard.

Palm Beach: Always good food and a pleasure to chat with Marina, but $77 for lunch is a bit steep unless you take advantage of the free chairs & umbrella that come with lunch.

Coco: My wife LOVES their thin-crust pizza! Makes for a cheap lunch with a great view. Had breakfast there one morning. Poor service. Expensive for what you get.

Andy & Cheryl's: Had lunch there 3 times. All were excellant & great, friendly service too!

Other meals: Had a BBQ grill at our villa & enjoyed grilling at home for our other meals.

Ma Doudou Factory:
Had a great time at Ma Doudou, tasting each of their offerings (at 10am!). Brought home 10 one liter bottles without any problems coming through US Customs in Miami. Did not have to pay any duty for unknown reason.

Car Rental:
Rented from Michael at Unity for the 8th straight time. Always a pleasure!

American Airlines:
Made the mistake of flying 1st class for the first time. Had enough points to get it for free. Now, wife thinks that is the ONLY way to fly. Oops!
