Airline: Left JFK on Monday, July 11th. Flight delayed almost 2 hours. No problems upon leaving the island back to New York.
Day 1: Arrived at the airport and picked up our car with Kenny's. Staying at Royal Palm, were promised a high floor with ocean view and ended up with a ground floor room overlooking the pool. After much discussion with management, we were promised a better accommodation the next day. Management moved our room while we were at the beach . That evening had dinner at GreenFields. Food and drinks were excellent. Special thanks to our waitress Juliet. Very sweet and very friendly. The manager came over and asked if we were doing okay. Definitely love this place.
Day 2: Relaxed and enjoyed our day at Baie Rouge at the west end. Enjoyed our walks sans suits without incident. Just a bushboy who came by to watch us as we swam and relaxed on the beach He left after about an hour.
Day3: Due to rain and cloud cover, we took a trip into Phillipsburg for some shopping. One Carnival Cruise ship was in port that day.
Day 4: Back to the west end of Rouge to relax again. Had dinner at Lee's Road House Grill. Excellent food and drinks and excellent friendly service. Relaxed on our terrace with drinks.
Day 5: Another great day at the beach relaxing and playing in the sand and surf. Ate dinner at Skip Jack's. Great food, but not so good service. Waiter wasn't exactly pleasant. We will return, cause we love their food.
Day 6: Had a great meal at Capricci Restaurant. Great food and drinks! A big shoutout to our waiter Matteo! Great service and very friendly! Simone our chef makes great Italian and seafood dishes. Definitely returning there to eat! Very nice atmosphere as well. Very romantic!
Day 7: After a sun and cloud day, we went to Cupecoy. It really is a shame about how built up and EXPENSIVE the area is becoming. As usual, Danny made great chicken and ribs as well as providing cold beers for us. Relaxed at the big beach before returning to our room to go to dinner at GreenFields one more time.
Just to note, even though road work is complete at Cole Bay Hill Roundabout, traffic still moves on island tim between 4:30 and 6:30 Monday thru Friday. Check your reciepts, as some places charge 15% service fee with the meals. Also a big hello to the naturist couple we met who are on the island for 5 weeks. Lucky! Hope they are having a great time.
