Any recent experiences? Using them again this year from San Juan to Beef one month from today....have a lousy three hours to layover but it was the best we could do when rebooking flights originally booked for November....

Yes, we used them in late March to get from SJU to EIS and from EIS back to SJU. The flights were uneventful and on time!

On the way to Tortola, the stewardess asked where we were going to stay. We told her Jost. She moved me to the side of the plane where I could get fun shots of Jost and our villa as we flew over.

The only weird part is finding them when you get into SJU from the states. It is in the original part of the airport down past the Margaretville type restaurant. The counter didn't even indicated Intercaribbean. The staff at the counter were from another airline, but they indicated we were at the right place, and to have a seat. Sure enough, 45 minutes or so before our flight the IC staff arrived and moved us through the process.

SJU is still fixing itself up post-María, and things move around sometimes. Who concourses were closed while they were being rebuilt.

We haven't used them since last June but we're doing the same thing as you but 2 days later. Sleep aboard at TMM June 11 then out from there. If you learn anything and have a minute after you arrive to summarize let us know.

We did this last June and were happy with their patience. It took SJU over an hour to get our luggage and we only had about a 1.5 hour layover to get rechecked in. I called them from upstairs and they calmed me down and told me not to worry, we'll be fine and they were right. In the end had plenty of time to board. Hope that's all still the same after all that's gone on.

Let us know what you're on and we'll keep an eye out for you. Our intention is Friday at Leverick and off to Anegada weather permitting.

Dave

I flew with them a couple of weeks ago, to go to PR for a couple of days. One time on the way there, and on the way back everyone was there early, so we left early. Landed in Tortola as we should have been leaving PR

We can use the time wisely if we are able to get through security....hoping we get our luggage and can get up to the Intercaribbean check-in while someone is still there....otherwise, we can’t get through until likely 1pm, when they start checking in for our 2:30pm flight.....and there is no bar until you get past TSA....LOL....

Hi Bridget - if you're worried about being stuck outside security, don't exit security until 1:30. When you deplane from your U.S. flight, grab lunch and drinks before you exit the secured area to check in with InterCaribbean.

That said, we've used them 3 or 4 times since December and never seen their check-in counter empty but I'm usually there later than you will be.

Cheers,
Jason

We will on Intercaribbean the end of June. We will be flying in on Southwest, carryon only. Can we get our boarding passes at the gate?
We flew Seaborne last year, got our boarding passes at the gate.

Waiting for summer in Michigan,
Ellen

Planning our flights for Catfight, similar questions. Have not flown thru SJU in years, but now the cost is comparable and the thought of avoiding C&I in Roadtown is appealing. Multiple groups arriving at SJU on Delta and American. Tighest connection is from Delta with 1 hour and 50 minutes layover. Flight to EIS is on Seaborne. If we carry on 1) is that enough time? 2) Can we get boarding passes at the gate and would not have to exit and re-enter the secured area?

Thanks, Andy

I have been successful on multiple occasions and with multiple airlines (Cape Air, Seaborne, Intercarribean) making the connection in as little as 75 minutes and getting our boarding pass at the gate (though more comfortable with minimum 90 minute layover). And, this is with our flight into SJU has always being on a seperate ticket (SWA). We have never had to go outside security to the ticket counter. Of course this is with carry on only.

If the flights are on one ticket, say American/Seaborne, you should already have your boarding pass. Others are probably available at the gate. Do check the Intercaribbean rules on carry-ons, because I think they’re smaller. We always have lots of luggage and overnight in San Juan.

Where things have changed is on the return, particularly if you have checked bags.

They are not code share flights - Intercaribbean does not code share the way Seabourne and Cape Air do - they are pretty good about carryon too. We have Global Entry so heading home is pretty easy breezy.

Doing this connection for the first time next month (SWA>IC) in San Juan. Can some elaborate on what you do when you get to SJU? Do you have to exit the terminal area and go to baggage claim and then check back in outside of security? Or do you claim bags in a different area and enter customs? This process is different than what we are used to where your bags are checked all the way through to the destination.
Also, trying to figure out the IC baggage allowance, is it first checked bag per person is free up to 44lbs and carryon under 10lbs?

Thanks for the help!

Just used them for flights in and out of San Juan form Beef Island, both flights were on time, they weigh your carry on to make sure your non payment bag is under 10lbs and in San Juan the check in is only open for 1 hour and closes 1 hour before take off so if the flight time is 11am check in opens at 9am and closes at 10am
