We always stay in grand Case- but place is not rentable at this time. So looking at a nice villa just above happy bay. Anyone with experience staying in that area. I know that no stores will be within walking distance and people watching from room will be no existent compared to grand case- will be there in November- supposed to be less than 5 minutes down to bay. Thanks for any input.

Not Happy Bay, but I have some friends staying in Casa Bamboo as we speak. It's in Terres Basses.

I’ve stayed above Happy Bay the last two years. It’s about a 10 minute walk down to the bay and a hot 15 minute walk back up.

Thanks. So besides a 10 minute walk to bay. Did you feel too far from everything. Anothwords nothing within walking distance? Also is the path down to bay same as folks coming in from Friars side. Feel safe? We have only walked in from Grand Case. Thanks for your help.

Ten minutes is an average walk for those villas. The villas at the bottom may only be a 5 minute walk but the villas at the top could be close to a 15 minute walk. It’s a very steep walk back up to the villas at the top. We drove as close to the bottom as we could within the gated community so we could to prevent the steep, hot walk back up. I never felt unsafe walking to Happy Bay during the day but one should be aware wherever you are....even at home. There is a path from the villas down to the middle of Friars to Happy Bay trail.

I’ve only stayed in that area. Therefore it’s all I know and driving to everything just seemed normal to me. We always used a taxi at night...not because we felt unsafe to drive to restaurants but because of alcohol intake during the day.

Enjoy
