Flights to and from JFK on AA, no problems, minor delay leaving, some light was out in the cockpit, so we sat on the ground for about 50 minutes. Arrived to sunny St. Maarten, Maya from AAA car rental waiting outside to take us to our car. Great Toyota Corolla, and it was silver not white!!! Checked in at at the Towers and dumped our bags, got changed and headed up to the Citrus deli for stuff for the room. That is the best find in the area, great coldcuts and salads, pastries fresh each morning. Went back to the room and then headed over to Peg Leg Pub for lunch. Great as always. Back to room and feel asleep till about 10:00 that night, headed out to Maho and ended up having Subway around 12:30am, also one at the Royale!!!

Friday we hung at the Towers pool and then went over and did the Rhinos, great fun, don't know if I would do it again, but enjoyed the afternoon. Back to PLP for snacks and then back to Towers Pool for Happy Hour. Dinner was had a LePerroquet, wonderful as always. Back to Casino Royale, and had fun, hubby likes to play craps and one again!!

Saturday - we just stayed at the pool, (its a very enjoyable area, right on the lagoon, nice breeze) just relaxed. Hubby played a round of golf, course is the best it has looked in a long time, not that its great, but not bad, they are mowing and keeping things up the best they can. I wouldn't pay the going rate, but as a Towers owner I think it was 52 without a cart or 72 with a cart. He will bring his clubs when we go back in April. Dinner at Marios Saturday night was the best meal we had on the island. More laid back then in the past, fun evening. Went to the Princess Casino and left after about 20 mintues, then headed back to Royale, played craps again and won!!!

Sunday we hit Mullet Bay Beach, I think the entire island was there that day, if tourism is down, you wouldn't have known it. It looked like the old days!!! Lunch at Rosies, ribs, rice, and salad for $6:00.

Monday - we dropped off our luggage early 8:00am, went to the beach till about 12:00 back to the pool, had lunch with Joyce and Claudia at the Pool bar, checked out around 3:00, headed up to Citrus to get some grinders/subs to go, dropped off car, and went to airport. We left at 5:15, very choppy flight, couldn't eat our sandwiches. Well guess what, you can not bring a ham sandwich into Puerto Rico!! So customs confiscated the sandwich, I got to keep my turkey. Flight from SJU was way overbooked, they were offering 600 cash per person to get off the plane!!! Unfortunately we had to get back to releive the babysitters so couldn't take advantage of it!!

Enjoyed the long weekend away and can't wait till we are down for 2 weeks in April. Island looked very clean, police out in force on frontstreet and all over the island. The new bridge is almost complete, the mega yachts are incredible, they have a 315 foot ship that came in owned by the Limited Clothing company, it is incredible, looks like a mini cruise ship. Big bucks entering the island by boat. Rumors still abuzz regarding Mullet, but supposedly court should resume in March? Mullet landscapers were working around the foundations at the beach cleaning things up. Also, for you Towers owners, NEW BEACH CHAIRS ARRIVED[Linked Image]
