Thursday was Art and Nanc last day on the island so after a run to marigot for vanilla, magic spice and rum we stayed at the pool and relaxed, talked and drank. We were going to head for Peg Leg's for dinner but after a hor d'oerve session that included finishing off wine, scotch, beer and vanilla rum (which ended up a two day event) we decided the the Hideaway was as far as we could get.
The first night on the isand we ate there and had the best grouper we had in the two weeks. So grouper it was again after a shrimp coctail. She who must be obeyed had the steak tenderloin. Both were very good. The grouper was as tasty as the first night. Had a coupon for the wine so no charge. Bill with service charge included was $72
Friday we went to Karakter Beach. As previously reported no deck but with the retaining wall they just set the tables in the sand. A good crowd but not great. We brought sandwiches with us, cleaning out the frig. There were 4 mega yachts plus about a dozen large sails in the ocean and it was a beautiful panorama. the weather was perfect and a great final day.
That night we finally made it to Yvettes. Wonderful experience. What a great feel to the place. We had Crackback Crab, Fish soup (chunks of red snapper, carrots celery and noodles) whole snapper pan fried (good size perfectly prepared) shrimp creole stew, coconut pie for dessert and two non alcoholic drinks. Bill was $54
Have a question for next time, which there will definitely be. Menu in dollars, bill in dollars. On the French side. Tip or no tip? I left 10% sort of slashed the baby in half.
Saturday we sat by the lagoon at Sucierre for final croissants and cappacino and headed for airport
Seamless return of car to Unity as always. Thanks Michael and Joseph.
Flight was a little late but fine. Phila a little cold but fine
Had a fantastic two weeks and looking forward to next year.
Will attempt to write an epilogue. summarizing the good, the bad and the ugly in the next couple of days but no promises
