Closely watching the rebuilding of various areas of St Maarten. I have not seen ot a lot of info on the Maho area. Coming in December and staying at the Royal Islander so wondering if anyone has recent info on Maho area and Royal Casino rebuilding - open restaurants, etc. Thanks

Are you sure the Royal Islander will be open in December? - I can't get official confirmation for the target date of October 1, so I'm holding off buying my plane ticket - My weeks are in January?

This is one of my complaints with RI. Not too much info.

I guess I am an eternal optimist. I am going to contact Richard March from Owners Assoc in a few months if nothing has been updated.

We loved going to the Casino. If the NFL season was in progress, they had a majority of the games playing on the TV's, and if you didn't see what you wanted, they would change one of the TV's to the game you wanted to watch. NFL Football for me, and slot machines for Wifey.

I've sent multiple e-mails to Nina and the info e-mail address and have not received a response. Has anyone contacting RI gotten any contacts or responses to inquiries?

I got this response on July 17th by emailing ricexec@royalislander.com - not very helpful, but at least I got a response

Good day Mr. Ward,

A re-opening date has not yet been confirmed. We are all awaiting an official announcement on said date.

Therefore, I cannot confirm with you on this until it is announced. The projected month that is being looked into is October 2018 but has not been confirmed as yet.

For Royal Islander Club, it looks very promising for 2019.

The Resort is presently undergoing re-painting, renovation and reconstruction and will re-open in late October (date to be announced), late Fall of 2018. Please keep abreast for an update on our re-opening date via our online post on our website at www.royalislander.com

As soon as we have received a confirmed re-opening date we will inform everyone accordingly.

Many of the island business has recovered and are re-opened with normal operations. Some of our beaches are also back to normal, and as beautiful has ever! Our beach is back to normal and also Mullet Beach looks beautiful, I was there last weekend, it looks picture perfect!

Kindest regards,

Marie Fearon
