Hello everyone. As we are landing in St Thomas at 415 we will miss the last ferry of the day. We are told our only option is a private water taxi however they want $100 for land transfer to water taxi and an additional $500 for the transfer to Nanny Cay. That seems very expensive. Does anyone know of any other options? Thank you everyone for your time.

A cheaper, more relaxing option, is to spend the night on St Thomas ( we stay at The Emerald Beach for around $225) and get the first ferry in next morning..

Hi,
We ran into the same thing and we have done both the sleep in St Thomas and the water taxi. Also look into how late customs will be open if you do the private water taxi. I believe right now West End closes at 4 and Roadtown around 6.

For us it ends up being a big math problem adding up all the taxis ferries etc and then factoring in what time we have available.
Happy planning,
Ellen

Are you doing a sleep aboard the first night? If so water taxi is your best choice. With West End C&I in flux I would make sure your water taxi commits to how they are getting you to Nanny Cay. After hours you may have to go to Road Town. Make sure the water taxi will wait while you clear and then take you to Nanny Cay. Otherwise you have another land transport to pay for.

Thank you for your responses. We are scheduled for a sleep aboard the night we get in so would really like to make it there. It’s just at $600 for transportation there we may be better staying in St Thomas. We could share a water taxi with others if they are landing at the same time. This would be November 21 at 415 at STT.

How many in your group? If it is just the two of you, water taxi does get very expensive. Not sure who you have quoted, but I have used Foxy's water taxi several times and they were great.
