KLM is adding an additional flight per week starting at the end of October. This will return them to pre-Irma levels. See article KLM

The story says that they are using the 330 airplane, but I wonder, since they are going to connecting flights through Curacao, whether they will bring back the 747 to SXM?????? Not great for those who are on SXM trying to get to Amsterdam, but sure would be great for us tourists to see the 747 again!!

I was under the impression that when they flew in the 747 they had to go to Curacao from SXM to refuel as they had a weight problem on take off from SXM clearing the mountain.

I don't know about that, one way or another.

EIther fact or urban legend as that story has been around for a long time, not sure which.. A lot of carriers are getting out of the 747 business.

We can only hope the load factors favor an upgrade fron A330✈️ To 747🕛✈️

I did some checking on the KLM website and they use both the 747-400 and A330-200 on flights between Curacao and Amsterdam. All the flights that have stops in SXM are on the A330-200. Eventually Curacao will lose the 747-400 when KLM receives more deliveries of the 787.
